HISTORIC PRESERVATION:
Goodloe
House, Bowie, MD
EBA provided analysis,
documentation, and design recommendations for the adaptive
reuse of the historic Goodloe Home in Bowie,
Maryland. EBA surveyed existing conditions, made recommendations,
and prepared a report to determine the scope of work for adaptive
reuse of the historic home. Built in 1916, the Goodloe Home was
once the private residence of the first principal of the Maryland
Normal and Industrial School, now known as Bowie State University,
Mr. Don S.S. Goodloe.
EBA’s
site investigation included:
• Structural
systems reviews and inspections to determine the physical conditions
and limitations of the facility
• Mechanical,
electrical, and structural systems were physically inspected
to make determinations regarding their respective
limitations, life expectancies, and conditions.
• Code
reviews for egress, zoning, and life safety.
