The proposed Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Worcester, MA is planned as a free standing one-story leased facility supporting the VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System. The new building will house Primary Care services, Mental Health services, and Physical Therapy, with support functions of Radiology, Lab, and Pharmacy.
This project proposes the lease of 40,000 net usable square feet (NUSF). The design is based to the extent possible on the CBOC prototypes developed by the VA, with modifications to meet the specific needs of the facility. The new leased facility will replace the existing 25,000 NUSF lease in Worcester. An effort has been made to achieve standardization in the use of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) modules developed by the VA as well as in the design of the common areas such as the lobby, reception, and service areas with the intent of conforming to a common branding for all such VA facilities.
